Working primarily with charcoal and acrylic medium, I create "keys" or "portals" to awaken memories outside the limits of time and place. My abstract pieces can awaken an emotion and focus imagination in the viewer. I often wonder if the stories people see in the work is sourced from their own memories, whether from this life or a different one in the past or in the future.
It's a gestural and intuitive process. As an artist in production, I fall into the role of facilitator of the work. It becomes what it chooses to become. The making of an abstract piece occurs as a conversation between a universe of memories without time, the materials in my hand and the magical muse – however, the artwork is most complete when the viewer discovers their own soul within the artwork. That's when the piece has found her home.
Beyond this tangible and intangible meaning, my artwork also aims to be visually attractive and desirable in collector displays. The square format pieces can be combined in groupings for diptychs, triptychs, and grids. Limited and open edition prints of many pieces are also available for collectors.
